The Opportunity:

We are seeking a senior or principal ecologist to join our Head Office in Stoke-on-Trent, where a well-established team of ecologists is based. In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and support the delivery of projects, ensuring high-quality results and client satisfaction;
  • Develop and prepare project proposals, showcasing your expertise and creativity;
  • Mentor junior staff in the field, sharing your knowledge and experience;
  • Conduct protected species surveys, applying your technical skills and expertise;
  • Compile, analyze, evaluate, and interpret survey data, providing valuable insights to clients;
  • Design protected species mitigation and prepare mitigation licenses, ensuring compliance with regulations;
  • Produce and contribute to complex technical reports, including Ecological Impact Assessments and Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments;
  • Develop project and financial management skills, taking on additional responsibilities;
  • Advance your career in ecology, with opportunities for growth and development.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Have four or more continuous years of experience in ecological consultancy;
  • Hold a degree in ecology or a related discipline;
  • Hold, or be eligible for, 'associate member' status, or higher, of CIEEM;
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues and clients;
  • A full UK driving license.
