Investment Analyst Job Description

Macdonald & Company is seeking a highly skilled Investment Analyst to join our team in London. As an Investment Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting our investment activities across Europe.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investment Opportunity Identification: Assist in identifying and evaluating potential investment opportunities across the UK and European markets.
  • Financial Modelling: Develop and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, including discounted cash flow (DCF) analyses and sensitivity analyses.
  • Investment Memoranda and Presentations: Prepare investment memoranda and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to understand sector trends, rental dynamics, and competitive landscape.
  • Due Diligence: Assist in the due diligence process by liaising with brokers, lawyers, and other third-party advisors to gather critical property information.
  • Transaction Support: Support the investment team throughout the transaction process, including preparation of term sheets, coordination of legal documentation, and closing logistics.
  • Investment Reporting: Develop periodic investment reports for investors, highlighting key performance metrics and strategic updates.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferable.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience as an Investment Analyst in real estate private equity or real estate investment banking.
  • Skills: Advanced financial modelling and Excel skills, with a strong understanding of real estate valuation techniques.
  • Language: Fluent English; a 2nd European Language (Dutch, German, or Spanish) is a benefit.
  • Personal Qualities: Highly motivated, self-starter, and a team player with a collaborative approach.
