Job Summary:

Our team at Iberdrola SA seeks an experienced Geospatial Data Analyst to join our GIS Operations department in Rochester NY.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CADD/GIS related field and proficiency in CAD and GIS systems. As a Lead GIS Specialist, you will be responsible for updating/maintenance of the electric and/or gas infrastructure using prescribed processes and procedures, as well as performing analysis of the company's Geographic Information System's (GIS) data and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintenance: Perform updates to the gas and/or electric Distribution and Transmission GIS models while ensuring compliance with the Asset Rules and company Operating Procedures.
  • Data verification: Verify the accuracy of the SAP Master Data records and the work sketches received and initiate the resolution of discrepancies between SAP and the Work Sketches that are received.
  • Quality control: Perform quality control checks of the GIS models.
  • Training and mentorship: Provide training/mentoring to Analysts within the department and Contractors to ensure that the work is completed in the most professional, efficient, and accurate manner.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in CADD/GIS related field or 5 years of work experience with concentration in GIS data analysis and editing.
  • Proficiency in available CAD and GIS systems and ability to train others in GIS topics.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate complete proficiency in analyzing and implementing GIS solutions.
