Automation Specialist

MDE Consultants Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join our team in a dynamic and innovative environment. As an Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial part in the Production and Maintenance Team, bringing a unique blend of technical expertise and problem-solving skills to drive business growth and success.

• Provide technical support for instrumentation and electrical control applications, ensuring seamless operation and minimizing downtime.
• Develop and implement solutions to upgrade or improve existing systems, processes, and procedures.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure efficient and effective maintenance activities, including shutdowns and investment projects.
• Design, program, and modify PLC and DCS control logic to optimize production processes and improve product quality.
• Troubleshoot complex control systems, identifying and resolving issues to minimize production losses.
• Participate in the emergency on-call roster, providing 24/7 support to ensure business continuity.
• Promote a culture of safety and well-being, identifying and addressing potential hazards and risks.

• Electrical knowledge or qualification, with a strong understanding of electrical control systems.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field, such as electrical engineering or automation.
• Experience with Siemens or Rockwell control systems, with a strong understanding of PLC and DCS programming.
• 18th Edition certification, with a strong understanding of electrical safety and regulations.
• Manufacturing industry experience, with a strong understanding of production processes and systems.
