About the Role

Oxford Economics is seeking an Economist to join our Macroeconomic Modelling and Scenarios team in London or Oxford.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop bespoke scenarios for strategic planning, stress testing, and asset allocation strategies
  • Support financial sector clients with asset return modelling and scenario analysis
  • Lead research on the macroeconomic impacts of climate change
  • Work with the Oxford Economics' Global Economic Model (GEM) to produce regulatory stress tests and economic scenarios
  • Write research reports and briefings on climate-related issues and economic trends
  • Improve the properties of the GEM, including financial sector modelling and climate policy levers
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of work experience as an economist or related field
  • Strong education in Economics to at least undergraduate level
  • Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of current economic and policy challenges
  • Previous experience in using applied macroeconomic models for forecasting and scenario analysis
  • Knowledge of statistical modelling software (Python, R, EViews)
