About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and clinically driven Clinical Pharmacist to join our Cardiology Service at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering an excellent clinical pharmacy service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as an independent prescriber to optimize medicine regimes for patients
  • Be part of a team of highly specialized clinical pharmacists delivering a high level of clinical pharmacy input to the Cardiology wards
  • Act as a role model for and be responsible for developing core competencies of any pharmacist working in the cardiology setting
  • Work with the Pharmacist Team Leader - Clinical Services (Medicine and Emergency Care Division) and Governance regarding the operational management and strategic development of pharmaceutical services

Requirements
  • Honours Degree in Pharmacy / MPharm
  • Registration with the GPhC as a pharmacist
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent
  • Relevant post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy
  • Experience of supervision of staff and training of foundation year trainee pharmacists
  • Excellent general clinical knowledge and specialized knowledge of drugs used and therapeutic trends within specialized areas
