Warehouse Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee the inbound operations at our UK warehouse. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of goods into our warehouse, maintaining high standards of inventory management, and leading a team of warehouse operatives to achieve inbound targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Inbound Operations: Supervise and coordinate the receipt, unloading, and inspection of incoming shipments, ensuring accurate documentation and processing of goods received.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure accurate inventory levels, proper tagging, labeling, and storage of goods, and conduct regular stock counts to ensure alignment with system data.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse operatives to ensure inbound targets are met, and provide guidance on quality control and process improvement.
  • Quality Control: Inspect shipments for damage, discrepancies, or quality issues, and liaise with suppliers for returns or replacements when necessary.
  • System Management: Ensure timely and accurate data entry into warehouse management systems (WMS) for all incoming goods, and generate inbound activity reports to provide insights into key performance indicators (KPIs).
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role handling inbound operations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control software, and basic MS Office tools (Word, Excel).
  • Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong decision-making and troubleshooting skills to resolve issues that may arise with inbound shipments.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure accuracy in receiving, logging, and inspecting inbound goods.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, move, and organize inventory and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
