Lincolnshire, United Kingdom Lincolnshire County Council Full time
About the Role

As a Strategic Skills Manager, you will play a key role in leading projects to support the Council's strategic skills priorities. You will drive learner engagement through promotional activity, learner voice, and building progression opportunities through partnership working. You will liaise with the wider teams and providers to support our strategic priorities and secure positive outcomes for learners and our communities.

You will be responsible for line managing two IAG and Progression Officers, who will drive forward improvements in supporting learners to secure positive outcomes and achieve career goals. You will also be involved in promoting skills and the service delivering over 7,000 training places to adults each year and driving forward the Council's Employment and Skills Plan.

The role requires a full driving licence and access to a vehicle, as you will need to travel to attend partnership meetings with our subcontracted providers at their locations. You will work from the office with your team at least once a week, typically on Thursdays, and potentially a second day as needed.

About You

You will be an individual who actively contributes to the Council's ambition to raise skill levels and aspirations of adults across Lincolnshire. You will work autonomously, make decisions, be effective in developing and maintaining partnership relationships, and drive forward projects and develop strategy around engagement and business development.

You will ideally be educated to degree level and have relevant experience in a post-16 education environment. You will also have a minimum of Level 3 Adult Teaching Qualification (PTLLS or equivalent) or willingness to obtain. You will have experience in contributing to business development or marketing processes, including engagement initiatives, social media, and traditional marketing, and developing strategy.

You will have demonstrable experience in partnership working, managing business relationships, or project management. You will also have suitable ICT skills (Microsoft Office). If you have experience working in the FE sector and possess the skills to support, develop, and advocate while maintaining strong working relationships, you may be the ideal candidate for this role.

About Our Offer

We offer a competitive salary, a contributory pension, comprehensive benefits package, flexible working policies, career progression opportunities, and a generous annual leave entitlement. You will also have the option to buy more annual leave. We are an agile and flexible hybrid working model, allowing you to achieve the optimal balance between personal and professional commitments.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We operate a talent pool scheme whereby candidates who are not successful on this occasion may be considered for a period of up to 3 months for equal positions.
