At CRA GROUP LIMITED, we're committed to excellence in data management. Our ideal candidate will be a skilled Data Governance Manager, responsible for designing and implementing effective data governance solutions that meet our organisational needs.

The role involves identifying opportunities to improve the quality and trustworthiness of data throughout the organisation, as well as establishing wider data management competencies. You'll apply data governance principles to optimise data safety and value across the data life cycle, while working to minimise data risks and enhance data literacy.

We're looking for someone with a sound understanding of data protection, particularly the data sharing components of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, including lawful basis and legal gateways. Experience in drafting, reviewing or assuring data sharing agreements/memoranda of understanding is also essential.

In this role, you'll advise on various projects at different stages of development, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards. You'll work closely with business areas to implement and improve policies, procedures, and standards, as well as associated products. Ensuring users understand their data responsibilities, developing training sessions, and building a data stewardship network are also key aspects of the job.

We're seeking a confident individual with strong interpersonal skills, able to deliver robust advice and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Previous experience in a government department and knowledge of/experience with the delivery of social security in England and Wales are highly desirable.

  • Essential Criteria:
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Data Protection, particularly of the data sharing components of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, including the application of Lawful Basis and Legal Gateways;
  • Experience in the drafting, reviewing or assurance of Data Sharing Agreements/Memoranda of Understanding;
  • Effectively advising on a variety of projects in different stages of development, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards across the business;
  • Working with Business Areas to help implement and continually improve policies, procedures and standards, as well as any associated products;
  • Ensuring that users of data understand their responsibilities, the departmental policy, relevant procedures and standards, including developing and conducting training sessions with colleagues;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver robust advice confidently, build and support a data stewardship network, communicating with a range of stakeholders in a clear, honest and enthusiastic way, in order to build trust;
  • Previous experience of working for a government department;
  • Confidence with relevant legal subject matter, e.g. reviewing and applying a legislative framework to a process;
  • Knowledge of/experience with the delivery of social security in England and Wales;
