Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Radiologist to join our team at the Division of Surgery – BHRUT NHS. This is a 12-month fixed term post for a Locum Consultant Breast Radiologist.

The successful candidate will be part of the radiology team at Queens and King George Hospitals, working closely with specialists and supporting the current radiology team. The post holder will share an office with another colleague and will be expected to provide comprehensive breast and general radiology services, including MDT and on-call services.

Main Duties

  • The post holder will share the responsibility for the provision of comprehensive breast and general radiology services, including MDT and on-call services.
  • They will participate in symptomatic One Stop Breast clinics, Breast biopsy clinics, and report breast MRI, cross-sectional images performed on the MRI and CT scanners at the CDC and at King George's and Queen's Hospital.
  • The post holder will contribute to the general duty roster and hot reporting sessions, and will be expected to work cross-site at KGH and QH.
  • They will also be required to contribute to the Breast and general MDTs with other colleagues in rotation, and will be part of the on-call commitment equally with existing IR consultants.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • MB BS or equivalent
  • FRCR or equivalent
  • Fellowship/ equivalent experience in Breast Radiology

Desirable Criteria

  • MRCP/MRCS
  • Be on the specialist register or within six months of entry at the time of interview
  • Log book

Applicant Requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
