Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Auction Centre Manager to join our team at Clear Automotive Recruitment Solutions Limited. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our vehicle auction centre in Bedford.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 19 employees in the yard, vehicle inspection, vehicle buying, marketing administration, and logistics departments.
- Drive results from within the branch in a timely and efficient manner, working closely with central sales and marketing teams to leverage relationships with vendors and buyers.
- Accountable for vendor performance within the branch, ensuring buyers are engaged and satisfied to maintain and grow the dealer-base required to create a thriving vehicle marketplace.
- Lead regular briefings and team huddles to encourage a one-team mentality and ensure everyone is commercially aware of their responsibilities towards branch goals.
- Liaise closely with branch and group account managers to ensure vendors and their vehicles are in appropriate sales before cut-offs, and ensure sale catalogues, including all administration and documentation processes, are delivered in line with agreed KPIs.
- Act on behalf of vendors to ensure vehicles are prepped pre-sale, vehicles are imaged, lines are walked, pre & post sale reports are delivered, and any other vendor-related SLA is achieved in a timely manner to encourage strong vendor relationships.
- Carry out appraisals and 1-2-1's for direct reports and liaise with HR to ensure whole branch completion.
- Identify efficiencies and ideas to the wider team across the business, from yard to office and beyond.
- Ensure site compliance, H&S, and procedures are all in place and maintained with the wider brand operations team.
- Drive EVA credentials both internally and externally, ensuring all requirements are maintained.
Requirements:
- Experience in the car auction industry or a related field.
- Strong leadership and management skills to lead a team of 19 employees.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with vendors, buyers, and internal teams.
- Ability to drive results and meet targets in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify efficiencies and ideas.
- Knowledge of vehicle remarketing industry and its operations.
