About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Boarding House Matron to join our team. As a residential care assistant manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Housemistress in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our boarders. Your duties will include supervising staff, coordinating activities, and evaluating strategies to improve the quality of care and support provided to our students.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise staff and ensure they are following established procedures and protocols;
- Coordinate activities and programs to promote the physical, emotional, and educational development of our boarders;
- Evaluate and implement strategies to improve the quality of care and support provided to boarders;
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and other significant events affecting the boarders;
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and policies governing residential care settings.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, social work, childcare);
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a residential care setting or similar role;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment;
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing circumstances, prioritizing the needs of the boarders at all times.
