We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Numeracy Coach to join our team at Suffolk County Council. As a Numeracy Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting adults in the community with Maths and increasing their confidence in everyday Numeracy.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct holistic needs assessments to develop mutually agreed plans to address individual needs and aspirations.
- Deliver clear pathways for learners to take steps towards breaking down barriers to work and health alongside increasing understanding and confidence in numeracy.
- Forge strong links with the VCSE sector to offer a holistic approach that meets the needs of Suffolk's most vulnerable people.
- Provide a bespoke, holistic, and integrated coaching service for adults with disabilities and health conditions.
- Have a good understanding of coaching and how to adapt theories and tools to meet the needs of learners, as well as knowledge of local labour market trends to give appropriate information, advice, and guidance.
- Proven track record of building rapport with people from a variety of backgrounds and setting realistic and achievable goals.
- Ability to support learners who struggle with numeracy and have barriers to learning and achieving in employment due to learning difficulties, autism, mental health difficulties, criminal convictions, and other challenges.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to accurately record data.
- Knowledge of and strong links within the local community.
