Deputy Head of Procurement and Supply Chain Management

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head of Procurement and Supply Chain to join our team at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Procurement and Supply Chain Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our procurement processes and supply chain functions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the operational aspects of the Procurement and Supply Chain team, ensuring the day-to-day function operates smoothly and that any issues are dealt with in a proactive and positive manner.
- Engage with key stakeholders across the Trust and the wider North East London Integrated Care System (ICS)/Integrated Care Board (ICB) to ensure commercial and procurement processes, resources, and systems are fit for purpose and provide a modern, efficient service.
- Design and implement new processes to support the Trust with its related procurement and supply chain functions, including contract management, structured savings plans, procurement work plans, and standardization plans.
- Provide leadership to direct reports, supporting their work program and fostering a good team work ethic.
- Support the future developments of Scan4Safety (Inventory Management System and Point of Care) across Homerton's sites.
- Develop and encourage a high level of customer service within the team, seeking feedback from end users and ensuring any complaints are investigated, resolved, and/or escalated as appropriate.

Requirements- Relevant business qualification, such as a degree or master's degree in a related field.
- Level 4 (and full member) of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) and equivalent work history.
- Strong understanding of the various levers of unlocking value from procurement activities, such as sourcing, tendering, demand management, standardization, and contract management.
- Experience of managing outsourcing and outsourced contracts, as well as delivering complex projects.
- Excellent persuasion, influencing, and conflict resolution skills, as well as highly motivated and conscientious.
- Excellent team working, including team building and motivation, and clear and effective communication.
