Fire Alarm Engineer Job Description

Our client, a leading national supplier of fire safety, security, and electrical services for the Social Housing sector, is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Engineer to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Service, maintain, and install fire alarm systems, including BS and emergency lighting systems, Nurse Call, and Access Control, in accordance with relevant British Standards.
  2. Report on and maintain emergency lighting systems and other associated equipment, such as fire extinguishers and AOVs.
  3. Conduct regular van stock checks and liaise with the Engineering Technical Supervisor and Procurement Department to ensure replenishment and appropriate stocking.
  4. Adopt a Health and Safety mindset, identifying potential risks associated with the role and reporting any issues promptly to support ongoing safety for self and others.

Requirements:

  1. A flexible approach to work with a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with opportunities to earn significantly more through weekends and participation in an out-of-hours call-out rota.
  2. A full UK Driving License.
  3. Previous Fire Alarm Experience and knowledge of analogue addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
  4. FIA training (or equivalent required) to BS5839-1 Fundamentals.
