Job Title: Senior Multi-Skilled Technician

This role is based in the Bedfordshire area, with a travel radius that covers Bedford, St. Neots, Stevenage, Royston, Hitchin, Biggleswade, Sandy, and Welwyn.

Compensation Package:

The total compensation package for this senior role is approximately £51,500 annually, plus incentives for overtime and bonuses.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a key member of the engineering team, responsible for routine and planned maintenance across multiple areas.
  • Develop and implement effective PPM schedules to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
  • Participate in site projects involving equipment installation, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on high-speed food production equipment, automation, and controls.
  • Expertly troubleshoot PLC and electrical systems.
  • Apply extensive knowledge of motors, servo drives, sensors, inverters, pneumatics, gearboxes, pumps, compressors, and other relevant technologies.
  • Drive innovation through continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Attributes:
  • Possesses a recognized engineering apprenticeship qualification.
  • Demonstrates expertise as a multi-skilled engineer with a strong electrical bias.
  • Brings experience from fast-paced food or FMCG manufacturing environments.
  • Has working knowledge of CMMS systems.
  • Thrives in collaborative, proactive environments as a team-oriented individual.
  • Hold a minimum HNC qualification or equivalent.
  • Displays proficiency in PLC and electrical fault diagnosis.
  • Comfotable working at heights and in hot conditions as required.
  • Able to manage stress effectively in fast-paced work settings.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvements and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Certifications in food safety can be beneficial.
