Job Title: Legal Project Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Legal Project Manager to join our growing Legal Project Management function. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing complex legal matters for key public and private sector clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project manage legal matters to key clients on major/complex projects across multiple practice groups.
  • Work alongside lawyers to provide project management services on complex matters throughout the lifecycle of those matters.
  • Develop and manage LPM tools and documentation, including matter plans, scopes, and budgets.
  • Proactively manage changes in scope, identify risks, and develop contingencies.
  • Support lawyers in the use of LPM tools and technologies.
  • Act as an ambassador for the LPM team internally and externally.
  • Engage with legal technology tools to provide support for effective project management.
  • Gather, compile, and analyze financial and other data to pull together reports to tight deadlines.
  • Draft project documents, such as scoping documents, project plans, and RAID logs.
  • Support the development of internal and client-facing solutions, including portals.
  • Support internal and external LPM business development initiatives.
  • Support the delivery of internal LPM development and training, including implementing improvements and solutions to delivery processes.
  • Build a network of contacts within the firm and externally to promote the LPM function.
  • Support the delivery of business development activities, including writing LPM-related articles and blogs.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a legal project manager, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • A qualification or industry-recognized certification in project management (Prince2, APMP, IILPM, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • A solid understanding of project management methodologies.
  • A drive to use technology and innovative solutions to improve service delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience at a senior level.
  • Ability to quickly prioritize between competing demands and multitask across concurrent projects.
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to interact at all levels.
