Job Description

Step Teachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in a Specialist Provision School. As a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts, we are committed to providing high-quality educational professionals to support the growth and development of students.

About the School

The school is a specialist SEMH school catering for secondary age boys, providing a safe learning environment where students can develop as healthy and happy individuals. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can not only support students but also have a positive impact on the school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students in the class under the direction of the class teacher
  • Maintain a tidy and organized classroom with accessible resources
  • Work effectively with other members of staff in the classroom and throughout the school
  • Support students on a whole class, small group, and one-to-one basis, and encourage their progression
  • Implement school policies and procedures effectively

Requirements

  • Recent experience working in a secondary school or with school-aged children
  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable
  • SEND experience is desirable
