Job Title: Health, Safety, Quality and Environment Advisor

Risktec Solutions is a leading independent risk management consultancy that helps clients manage health, safety, security, environmental (HSSE) and business risk in high-impact sectors.

About the Role

We are seeking highly motivated and dynamic Nuclear Safety Case Consultants with a minimum of 5 years experience to join our growing Warrington team (location flexible). The successful candidates will support major projects within the nuclear industry in the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of major safety cases through authoring, verifying and managing Safety Case documentation, including designation of proportionate safety measures and ALARP justification
  • Undertake radiological and conventional safety assessments
  • Conduct specialist assessments to support the Safety Case
  • Develop Safety Case strategies and/or devise key Safety Case arguments
  • Mentor less experienced assessors in the production of safety case documentation and the use of safety assessment tools/techniques
  • Manage delivery of projects in a consultancy environment and from cradle to grave, including managing contracts and writing proposals for new work
  • Manage resource to ensure project delivery within budget
Requirements
  • A proven track record of applying risk management principles and delivering Safety Case documentation in the Nuclear Industry
  • An ability to quickly grasp complex issues and apply knowledge and experience to deliver pragmatic and proportionate solutions in the context of nuclear operating plant and different stages of the plant lifecycle e.g. decommissioning
