Locum SEN and Education Lawyer Opportunity

Venn Group's specialist legal team is working with an established Local Authority in the Midlands to recruit a Locum SEN and Education Lawyer.

The role will be performed on a predominantly remote basis with occasional office presence required. Our client is seeking a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with Local Government experience and a solid understanding of Education and SEND matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry a caseload of Tribunal meetings and provide support to junior members of staff
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply and interpret SEN and Education Law
  • Knowledge of SEN court and Tribunal procedures
  • Knowledge of Local Government law, especially in relation to Education law, Judicial Review, and FOI/DPA
  • Experience of conducting case files, drafting pleadings, and witness statements
  • Ability to conduct legal research, interpret legislation, and summarise key points of case law

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive
  • Local Government experience
  • Solid understanding of Education and SEND matters

What We Offer:

An attractive rate of up to £60 per hour Outside IR35, dependent on individual experience.
