About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teaching Assistant to join our team at Monarch Education. As a Teaching Assistant for SEND students, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational journey of young children with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the educational journey of young children with special needs
  • Follow individualized learning plans (EHCP's) to ensure every child reaches their potential
  • Work in a primary special school for students with mild to severe special needs
  • Adapt to the needs of each child to ensure a fair chance at learning
  • Participate in fun and engaging activities and games to support learning
Requirements
  • Minimum EYFS Level 3 qualification
  • Willingness to help children with personal care
  • Knowledge of Makaton, PECS communication, and Autism Awareness (advantageous)
  • Some SEN experience
Desirable Skills
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with students, families, and professionals
  • Patience and caring staff to support and understand the unique needs of students with special needs
  • Knowledge of various learning strategies and accommodations to support students with different abilities
  • Ability to build positive relationships and create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
