Job Title: Mental Health Employment Specialist

Job Overview:

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Mental Health Employment Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Individual Placement and Support (IPS) employment service, you will play a vital role in supporting people with severe mental health issues to gain, sustain, and retain paid employment.

Main Responsibilities:

- Support a caseload of up to 20 people with significant mental health issues who are unemployed or struggling in the workplace.
- Work directly with clients, clinicians, consultant psychiatrists, employers, and Job Centre Plus to enable clients to gain, sustain, and retain paid employment.
- Collaborate with a mixed-disciplinary team to provide expert support and advice to clients.

Requirements:

- Degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience of working with and supporting people who have mental health issues (or other unemployed disadvantaged groups) into employment.
- Excellent motivational, communication, and listening skills.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, tenacity, and hope when working alongside people with severe mental health issues.
- Good numeracy and information management skills.
- Ability to travel across three localities in Berkshire west.
