We are seeking a highly skilled Global Commodity Lead to join our Procurement department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in overseeing the logistics related to the procurement of general inventory or a specific category of products.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a commodity-based supply chain strategy to support the Green Fleet demands
- Manage and develop existing and new supplier relationships to ensure optimal performance
- Interface with our engineering teams to ensure supply chain strategy is implemented and provide input into engineering teams
- Produce commodity strategies to showcase to the wider business
- Develop supplier performance measures in conjunction with supplier quality assurance and logistics
- Conduct routine supplier audits and develop improvement plans with suppliers who fail to meet business requirements
- Prepare and issue RFQs
- Manage internal stakeholders and carry out commercial negotiations
- Drive the VE/VA and DFM process with suppliers and engineering to achieve quality, cost, and delivery targets
- MCIPS or studying towards MCIPS qualification is desirable
- Ability to review and understand technical proposals, technical drawings, and specifications
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under own initiative and under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
- Strong analytical skills allied with an ability and commitment to meet deadlines
- The ability to establish strong relationships internally and externally
- The ability to lead a team in reacting quickly to immediate operational requirements
- Supplier visits are part of the role, so a clean driving license is essential
- Microsoft Excel and office skills
- Excellent attention to detail
