Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Manager to join our team at Grundon. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of our waste collection services at our Colnbrook depot.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise an experienced transport office team and around 70 drivers to ensure that customers receive their waste collection service when they expect it.
- Connect with the transport team and customers to establish a strong working relationship.
- Help to manage the depot's operations, including supervising the transport office team and drivers.
- Ensure that all transport operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
- Monitor and control costs to ensure that the depot operates within budget.
Requirements
- At least two years' supervisory or managerial experience, preferably in the waste industry.
- A Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and full clean UK driving licence, ideally with LGV Class 2 (cat C) entitlement.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Proficient in computer skills, including cost-control software.
