About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Support Technician to join our team at Activate Group Limited. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive and efficient support to our employees, ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first-line support to employees via phone, email, and in-person, resolving technical issues and escalating complex problems to senior technicians.
  • Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment, including servers, storage, and network devices, to ensure optimal performance and stability.
  • Perform advanced system administration tasks, including managing Active Directory, user permissions, group policies, and server monitoring.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying causes of recurring issues and propose long-term solutions to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors and service providers to escalate and resolve complex issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to services.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of issue resolutions, processes, and system configurations to support knowledge sharing within the team and enable faster future troubleshooting.
  • Participate in and provide technical expertise for IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology deployments, to support business objectives.
  • Use monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential problems in the IT environment before they impact users.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to the 1st line support team, helping to upskill them and improve the overall efficiency of the support function.
  • Ensure that systems and networks comply with security standards and policies, addressing vulnerabilities and ensuring the organization's IT environment is secure.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with end-users to explain resolutions or updates on the progress of their issues, ensuring customer satisfaction is maintained at all times.
Requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong technical skills, with experience in administering and managing Windows, Linux, and/or macOS environments, as well as Active Directory, Group Policy, and user account management.
  • Good understanding of hardware, including workstations, servers, printers, and projectors.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages, such as PowerShell and MySQL.
  • Solution-orientated, with a strong passion for technology and the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and collaborative approach to tasks, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
