Join Our Team as a Residential Childcare Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Worker to join our team in a specialist residential home and educational setting. As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children in care to thrive and reach their full potential.

About the Role

As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the social and educational needs of children by accompanying them into classroom environments
  • Developing and carrying out engaging activities based on the interests of the young people in the house
  • Acting as a key worker to some children and supporting them on a one-to-one basis
  • Actively identifying potential risks or escalation points and using positive behaviour management techniques
  • Coordinating wider care team to ensure consistency of care and messaging for young people

You will work closely with a team of Residential Childcare Workers to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the children in our care.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working in a care setting with young people
  • Demonstrate understanding of legislation, behaviour management techniques, and attachment theory
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with non-verbal children
  • Registration under the PVG scheme
  • Full driving licence
  • Obtained SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
