Job Summary:

Voyage Care is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Support Worker to lead our residential service in North Petherton. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life of the individuals we support, while also contributing to the management and supervision of the service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Allocate shifts and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet the needs of the individuals we support.
  • Support the Manager with day-to-day supervision and management of the service, including staff supervision and training.
  • Assist with the induction of new colleagues and ensure a smooth transition into the team.
  • Support individuals with their daily lives, helping them to gain independence and achieve their goals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring that the needs of the individuals we support are met.
  • Work collaboratively with the management team to ensure the smooth operation of the service.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker and a Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism, acquired brain injury, complex individuals with mental health needs, traumatic backgrounds, and challenging behaviors.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings, to meet the needs of the service.
