About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a highly skilled Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to join our team at RAF Lakenheath. As a key member of our Industrial Equipment Mechanic Work Leaders, you will be responsible for leading teams in the maintenance, overhaul, and repair of water treatment and distribution systems, industrial waste treatment equipment, and collection systems.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and train teams in performing all preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Overhaul and repair various types of equipment in water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Plan and lay out work from blueprints, sketches, specifications, and work orders.
  • Make templates, jigs, and other fixtures required for repair or installation.
  • Utilise safety practises and procedures.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical and Electrical Engineer who holds a BTEC Level 3 / City and Guilds/NVQ in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. You will have proven experience in leading maintenance tasks and teams, as well as expertise in hydraulic and pneumatic systems. You will also have knowledge of operating characteristics of the involved systems and equipment, and the applicable installation and repair procedures, methods, and trade practices.

A valid driver's license (Category B) is required for this position. You will need to undertake a pre-employment physical (including immunisations) for this role. All successful applicants will require a security clearance and a right to work in the UK.
