Work Schedule:

Early Shift: 6:30 AM to 2:00 PM Monday to Thursday, 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM Friday (10% shift premium) (37 hours)

Late Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM Monday to Thursday, 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM Friday (15% shift premium) (37 hours)

Day Shift: Monday to Thursday 7:30 AM to 3:45 PM and 7:30 AM to 3:15 PM on Friday (37 hours) – Note: Successful candidates will initially work a day shift before transitioning to the above shift pattern.

Team Overview:

Join Napier Turbocharger, a Wabtec Company, as a skilled Manufacturing Engineer. Our team specializes in the design, production, and testing of industrial turbochargers serving the power generation, marine, and rail traction sectors.

Your Impact:

  • Utilize your expertise in contemporary machining and manufacturing techniques, including NC programming, ideally from a low-volume, high-precision manufacturing background such as Aerospace or Power Generation. Candidates should be self-motivated, adept at problem-solving, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Daily Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee manufacturing projects, ensuring timely delivery, effective project planning, and budget management.
  • Create and maintain essential documentation, including Manufacturing Routings, Layouts, and Instructions.
  • Conduct investigations into non-conformance issues, employing root cause analysis and implementing corrective measures.
  • Perform inspection tasks, including generating non-conformance reports and developing in-process and final inspection protocols.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Design, Quality, Procurement, and external suppliers.
  • Identify and procure necessary jigs, fixtures, tooling, gauging, and lifting equipment.
  • Develop and execute cost-saving initiatives.
  • Engage in NC programming for multi-axis Turning, Milling, Grinding, and EDM machines.
  • Program CMMs using PC-DMIS.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred qualifications include HNC level or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with relevant training as a Manufacturing Technician/Engineer.
  • Experience in a modern manufacturing environment with a solid understanding of machining techniques and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Siemens NX (CAM) and Hypermill is a plus.
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Proficient in computer/software applications.
