Product Transfer Specialist

Job Purpose

This role reports to the Shift Manager and is responsible for the effective transfer of product from production to packing. The successful candidate will ensure that any waste during transfer is captured, the QCP equipment is working correctly, and the correct screens are in place. Additionally, this role will assist the mill in raw material transfers and provide cover for waste management as needed.

Main Responsibilities
  • Traceability of product, including quantities within the WIP bin installation
  • Purge of product to prevent cross contamination
  • Follow the production plan to fit the correct size mesh screens to the Mogensen sieves as according to the matrix for these meshes per product
  • Set-up Tomra optical sorters to suit the product coming through
  • Collect and collate regrind collection bins and totes, print a ticket, and remove to the sheds for use by the mill operators
  • Assist with other areas as required, including raw material transfers into the mill
  • Provide an element of cover to site waste management when needed
Requirements and Experience
  • Self-starting and takes pride and ownership of their area
  • Helpful and looks to support others
  • FLT License (or willing to train)
  • Manufacturing background, preferably in food, pet food, or FMCG
  • Food Safety L2
  • Awareness of BRC
  • IOSH Working Safely
  • Can-do attitude, seeking solutions
  • Honest and empathetic with a sense of perspective
  • Team player, willing to work together
  • Open to change and willing to learn

£12.24 per hour
