As a Fire Service Instructor at Capita's Fire Service College, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of firefighting professionals. Our organisation specialises in equipping firefighters with the best possible skills and training to learn the latest techniques and procedures. This opportunity allows you to be part of an esteemed team, contributing to the delivery of tactical ventilation/positive pressure ventilation courses for operational personnel. The position is a fixed-term contract until March 2026, providing a stable income while also affording flexibility to work some weekends. One of the primary responsibilities as a Fire Service Instructor will include training groups of delegates in both classroom and practical environments, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to operate effectively in real-world scenarios. Additionally, you will be expected to deliver all aspects of the training course, including modern-day firefighting techniques, which is crucial for the success of our learners. To excel in this role, you must possess strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, as well as a basic understanding of IT systems experience using Microsoft Office. Furthermore, being an accredited breathing apparatus instructor is essential, and having additional certifications such as IOSH Managing Safely or H+S Level 2 Qualsafe qualification would be desirable. In return for your expertise, you will receive a competitive salary of up to £37,100, along with benefits including 23 days' holiday (rising to 27), the opportunity to upskill and gain further qualifications, and subsidised canteen, bar, and gym facilities onsite.
