Job Title: Behaviour Support Specialist

Location: Oxfordshire

Pay Rate: £12 - £15 per hour (depending on experience)

Hours: Part-Time/Full-Time (flexible scheduling available)

Job Description:

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Specialist to work closely with students, teachers, and school staff to help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. This role offers both part-time and full-time options, making it ideal for individuals looking for flexibility and a rewarding career path with growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and group support to students who may be struggling with behaviour management, helping them engage more effectively in their learning.
• Implement and follow individual behaviour plans in collaboration with teachers, SENCo, and other relevant staff.
• Develop strategies to manage challenging behaviours, using a range of de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement.
• Promote and model positive behaviour expectations, helping students develop social and emotional skills.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create a safe and structured classroom environment, contributing to an inclusive school culture.
• Assist students in managing transitions, routines, and other daily activities, ensuring a consistent and supportive presence.
• Keep detailed records of interventions and progress, reporting to relevant staff and updating behaviour plans as needed.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay informed on best practices for behaviour support in educational settings.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience working with students who have behavioural challenges, either in a school setting or a similar environment.
• Understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students.
• Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a positive school culture.
• Basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
• Relevant qualifications in Education, Psychology, Counselling, or similar fields are advantageous but not essential.
