Language Empire, a leading provider of interpreting and translation services in the UK, is seeking highly skilled freelance interpreters to work with various public and private organisations.

We are recruiting for face-to-face, telephone, video interpreters and translators who can work in diverse settings such as the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation, and other sectors.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent language skills, be able to communicate complex information accurately, and have experience working in a fast-paced environment. As a self-employed interpreter, you will have the flexibility to choose your assignments and work from the comfort of your own home.

In this role, you will interpret for individuals using legal, health, and local government services, ensuring effective communication between service users and providers. You will also be responsible for checking the non-English speakers' understanding after each sentence, maintaining confidentiality, and liaising between stakeholders.

To succeed in this position, you must be fluent in English and another language, have the right to work in the UK, and be aged 21 or over. Formal qualifications such as DPSI, Community Interpreting, NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration, or a degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages are advantageous. Experience in conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting is also desirable.
