About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Care Officer to join our team at Harbour Place in Workington. As a Senior Care Officer, you will play a vital role in delivering an outstanding service with compassion and respect, putting customers first and treating them with dignity.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the care team to create a safe and supportive environment where colleagues can thrive.
- Hold regular supervision sessions to observe and support Care Assistants in customer homes, ensuring a person-centered approach to care.
- Support and guide team members through coaching, mentoring, and upskilling to enhance their skills and confidence.
- Facilitate regular team meetings to share ideas, best practices, and recognize achievements.
- Build effective partnerships with colleagues across Riverside and participate in wider initiatives.
Service Support
- Support managers to ensure the service is delivered in line with CQC and contractual requirements.
- Be a point of contact for customers and staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Promote and implement care policies and procedures to ensure a safe and effective service.
- Support managers to meet Riverside performance targets around KPIs.
- Assist with rostering and medication procedures to ensure seamless service delivery.
Support Customers
- Support the care team through supervision to provide a person-centered service for customers.
- Assess customers' and potential customers' care and support needs in consultation with relevant agencies.
- Work to meet monthly KPIs and review care plans every 6 months in line with company policy.
- Monitor and evaluate customers' welfare needs, maintaining regular contact and responding to emergency situations.
Requirements

- Able to listen and communicate clearly, encourage feedback and reflection, empower, motivate, and deliver improvements.
- Competent IT skills and experience of working in a team and communicating positively with others.
- Able to use initiative and have confidence to make and act on decisions.
