Rugby Borough Council Mechanic

Rugby Borough Council is seeking an experienced Vehicle Maintenance Fitter to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining Council-owned vehicles, plant, and machinery to ensure they are safe, compliant, and operational.
Key Responsibilities- Servicing and repairing vehicles, plant, and machinery to meet VOSA and Council standards.
- Ensuring all maintenance and repair work is compliant with Health and Safety policies.
- Accurately documenting maintenance activities per VOSA and Council requirements.
- Attending to breakdowns at the roadside and landfill sites during working hours.
- Preparing and performing compliance checks on Hackney Carriages and other hire vehicles.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, safety protocols, and compliance requirements, as well as excellent customer service skills and a commitment to Health and Safety protocols.
Estimated Salary: £37,500 - £42,000 per annum
