Overview

CV-Library is currently recruiting for a steel fixer to join our team on a major infrastructure project in Oxfordshire. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a crucial role in delivering this significant development.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced steel fixer to work on a 5-month minimum contract, with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel fixing, with experience working on large-scale construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble reinforcing bars or mesh by welding, wiring, or clipping into predetermined locations within the concrete
  • Fabricate steel reinforcement as beams, footing pads, or special units
  • Join prefabricated units together for large sections of high reinforcement
  • Fix steel to concrete bases and install beams and pre-cast slabs

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a steel fixer in large-scale or high-value construction projects
  • Knowledge of safety standards and best practices
  • Able to use protective clothing and equipment
