Job Description:

As a PLC / Controls Engineer at Mallaghan Engineering, you will lead the full software development lifecycle, providing technical direction and mentoring to identify technical solutions to realize design.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, program, and test software solutions.
  • Develop PLC software control systems.
  • Create technical documentation, including work instructions, parts lists, and maintenance components.
  • Provide mentoring and technical direction to development teams.
  • Develop solutions to meet customer requirements, researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
  • Work on R&D projects to expand the current product range and bring new products to the market.
  • Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods and testing finished products and system capabilities.
  • Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with regulations.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements:
  • HND or equivalent in electronic/electrical engineering or relevant working engineering experience.
  • Minimum 5 years postgraduate work experience in a similar design software role.
  • Experience in software programming with Danfoss, Codesys, and Siemens.
  • Ability to read and create detailed electrical drawings.
  • Detailed knowledge of current regulations and electrical design standards.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team.
