Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Nutrition and Safety Specialist to join our team at Bright Horizons Chineham Park Day Nursery and Preschool in Basingstoke, Hampshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to internal and external regulations.
  • Support the Chef in preparing nutritious meals for children, minimizing food waste.
  • In the absence of the Chef, oversee kitchen operations, ensuring dietary requirements are met and communicated effectively.
  • Promote child welfare, protection, health, and safety, and safeguarding best practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive, happy, and safe environment.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in cooking or kitchen work within a domestic or commercial setting.
  • Passion for nutrition and inspiring healthy eating habits.
  • Food Safety CIEH L2 certification (or equivalent) required on day one.
  • Sound knowledge of COSHH and managing dietary requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with colleagues, children, and parents.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
