About Our Team - Child Development Specialists

The Child Development Specialists team is part of the Educational Psychology Service at Bath and North East Somerset Council. Our team's primary goal is to provide high-quality support and services to children and young people with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the best possible outcomes.

We are seeking a talented Child Development Specialist to join our team. This role will be a part-time position, with a total of 51.8 hours available to be split across two positions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with children, young people, and their families, providing support and guidance to help them overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

About the Role

The Child Development Specialist will be responsible for working with children and young people with special educational needs, providing assessment, consultation, and intervention services. This will involve working closely with parents, carers, educational settings, and other professionals to develop and implement plans to support the child's needs.

The team places a high emphasis on wellbeing, utilising individual team member's skills, interests, and knowledge to maintain the application of psychology in all aspects of work. As a member of the team, you will be well supported through regular supervision, opportunities to develop areas of interest, and collaborative working with colleagues.

Your Main Place of Work

The main place of work will be the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport. The Council also offers flexible working arrangements and access to high-quality IT systems.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this role is £35,430 - £45,786 per annum, depending on experience. Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check. We are also happy to consider SPA portability in your appointment if you currently hold SPA points.
