About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Community Rehabilitation Team at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. As an Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in providing highly specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and advice to patients and their carers.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in occupational therapy and experience working in a community setting. You will be responsible for leading the clinical specialty, providing leadership, development, and governance in relation to the clinical area, and supporting other clinicians regarding patient treatment and management.

You will work as part of an interdependent, multidisciplinary team, ensuring that therapy input is integrated into the patient's overall care plan. You will also be responsible for working with the manager to lead and develop the service in accordance with patient needs and trust-wide developments.

The role involves working in the community, providing therapy input to patients in their homes, and working with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of patients, including those with complex neurology and falls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide highly specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and advice to patients and their carers.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a community setting as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Strong background in occupational therapy.
  • Ability to work as part of an interdependent, multidisciplinary team.
  • Leadership and development skills.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of patients, including those with complex neurology and falls.
