This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a Specialist Practitioner, to join our National Deaf CAMHS team, and work across NDCAMHS and The Deaf Academy, Exmouth. This is a joint initiative between NDCAMHS and the Deaf Academy, to support students at the Academy throughout partnership and collaborative work.**Key requirements**:
- Recognised professional qualification in nursing, social work, Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology or Speech and Language therapy.
- Experience of working with children who are Deaf or/and have learning disability, communication disorder, physical or visual impairment and/or challenging behaviours
- Knowledge of a wide range of evidence-based treatment/therapeutic interventions.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and policies relating to children and young people (e.g. Safeguarding)
- Significant experience in specialist assessment according to discipline
- Ability to develop ways of communicating with adults and children who may have communication difficulties
- Ability to prioritise workload independently, work with competing deadlines and organise time effectively

**Key responsibilities**:
- Provide a specialist mental health practitioner service to Deaf children and young people (up to the age of 25 years), based at the Deaf Academy, Exmouth.
- Develop and undertake specialist assessments, formulations and interventions with this client group.
- Provide advice and reflective practice to other professionals working with Deaf students at the Deaf Academy.
- Contribute to staff training for the Deaf Academy.
- Liaise closely with other professionals working in specialist services.
- Work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service.
- Access supervision and training with Somerset FT.
