Job Responsibilities
The postholder will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of primary care for all registered and temporary patients.
Main Duties
The postholder will:
- Assess and examine patients, diagnose, plan, treat and review/evaluate
- Diagnose and manage patients presenting with both acute and chronic conditions based on a management plan which includes a medication plan and other interventions
- Identify health priorities and make timely and appropriate interventions to support patients presenting in an emergency and/or with complex/urgent needs
- Assess and manage patients' physiological and psychological needs, including patients with complex needs and multiple diagnoses
- Arrange referrals for patients where appropriate via communicating with the administrator on shift
- Ensure that clear, accurate contemporaneous records are made of all patient encounters
- Maintain own personal professional development and continuing medical education to ensure knowledge and skills are up to date
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have:
- NMC Registered
- QOF knowledge Make every contact count
- Knowledge of primary and community healthcare
- Excellent communication skills
- Good organisational and IT skills
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload
- Clear understanding of professional responsibilities and accountability
Desirable Qualifications
The following qualifications are desirable:
- Experience of SystmOne / EMIS clinical system
- Experience working in a GP practice / Primary Care
