About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to individuals with learning disabilities and mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the ward for a span of duty and liaise with the multidisciplinary team to deliver specialist healthcare to meet the needs of patients.
  • Act as primary nurse for a small group of individuals and adhere to legislative frameworks.
  • Promote equality for all service users through anti-discriminatory practice, supporting individuals' rights, choices, beliefs, and identity, and by using effective communication.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care through the principles of Positive Behavioural Support.

Requirements

  • 1st Level Registered Nurse.
  • Professional Registration with the NMC.
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary and/or multi-agency working.
  • Knowledge of the principles of Clinical Governance.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety legislation.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Evidence of postgraduate study.
  • Teaching and assessing/mentorship of students.
  • Experience of research and/or audit and implementing evidence-based practice.
  • Experience of working with the designated client group.
