About Roxel UK - We are an Anglo-French company that designs, develops, and manufactures solid propellant rocket motors for tactical missiles. Our operations span across several sites in the UK and France, with an annual turnover of around £150M and over 700 staff. The UK operations are primarily based at Summerfield, Kidderminster.

Job Role - This role is responsible for ensuring the quality of our products throughout their lifecycle. The successful candidate will support the product lifecycle quality assurance process, taking ownership of ensuring that processes and procedures are in place and adhered to in relation to product quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspections of parts and assemblies to drawing and process requirements, across different sites and projects.
  • Perform minor reworks and touch-ups to ensure product compliance.
  • Conduct spot-checks of operators to confirm adherence to manufacturing manuals.
  • Raise non-conformance forms if necessary and inspect/reapprove rework.
  • Manage workload, liaising with cell leaders to identify and complete inspections on time.
  • Generate, collate, update, and maintain FAIR reports using Visual Fair as requested.
  • Create and manage CMM programs, probes, and software updates.
  • Problem-solve CMM errors, issues, and collisions.
  • Operate CMM machines according to business needs.
  • Develop inspection methods for underdefined or non-standard inspections.
  • Adhere to business procedures and processes, ensuring relevant paperwork is completed.
  • Take responsibility for personal health and safety within the business.
  • Mentor or teach new inspectors, facilitating knowledge sharing and progression potential within the team.
  • Conduct audits, including flash, internal, and supplier audits, as requested.
  • Perform additional duties or tasks as required by business needs.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Aptitude in an engineering discipline, equivalent to an apprenticeship level 3 or higher.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Internal Auditor AS/EN9100 training.

Required Skills

  • Quality inspection experience within a manufacturing/engineering industry.
  • CMM operation and programming expertise.
  • FAIR generation and collation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with root cause analysis tools, such as 8Ds or 5 Whys.
