About Your Skills and Qualifications: As a skilled Maintenance Technician, you will need to have a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical engineering principles. You should hold a time-served electrician qualification, such as an NVQ Level 3 in electrical engineering, with strong mechanical abilities and at least 2 years of post-apprenticeship experience. Prior experience in a maintenance role, ideally within the food production sector, is highly desirable.

You will also need to have in-depth knowledge of single and three-phase electrical systems and installations, as well as skills in diagnosing faults in electrical control circuits, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical equipment. Familiarity with PLC systems and the ability to configure and program motor inverters, temperature controllers, counters, and timers is also essential. Hands-on experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems is required.

In addition to your technical skills, you should be able to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. In return for your hard work and dedication, you can expect a competitive salary of £42,210 per year, with optional overtime paid at time-and-a-half.
