We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Claims Handler to join our established Claims team at Howden. As a Senior Claims Handler, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality and efficient claims service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end claims processes, including investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of insurance claims.
- Utilize comprehensive knowledge of insurance policies, coverage types, and claims procedures to accurately assess and adjudicate claims within established timelines and guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments and external vendors and stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient resolution of claims.
- Analyze claims data, identify trends, and develop strategies to mitigate risk and create reports to reduce claim frequency and improve overall claims management processes.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members to foster a culture of excellence and accountability and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, insurers, loss adjusters, and industry partners to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and make better-informed decisions.
- Prepare and present reports and presentations highlighting key performance indicators.
- Visit clients in the event of a loss to investigate the surrounding circumstances and build a robust claim to achieve a swift and favorable conclusion.
- Negotiate with insurers to obtain the best possible settlement terms under the policy.
- Act as an advocate for the claims function and settlements.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance policies, coverage types, and claims procedures.
- Brokerage experience.
- Strong client relationship management experience.
- Understanding of general and legal principles of insurance.
- Understanding of relevant regulatory and legal frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and decision-making skills.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
