Job overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our Health Protection Service team in North Wales.
As a Health Protection Team Member, you will work alongside our partnership to respond to health protection measures and threats as required.
The Health Protection Team will work closely with Public Health Wales to protect and improve health and well-being and reduce health inequalities for the people of North Wales.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of the Health Protection Service, either at their designated work base or as part of an agile, patient-facing, outreach team at any location within north Wales.
The post holder will work under the direction and support of a Registered Nurse by following the Health Board's protocols, policies, procedures, pathways, clinical governance requirements and care plans.
The role will also require the post holder to:
Ensure effective communication with patients, carers, multidisciplinary team and the wider health and social care community.
Practice in accordance with Health Board standards, statutory requirements, operate within the boundaries of the role, and assessed competencies.
Use personal effectiveness and knowledge to contribute to the development and delivery of a quality service.
Work proactively as a member of the multi-disciplinary and multi-professional healthcare team, in support of registered practitioners.
Manage a small defined caseload of patients under the supervision of the registered nurse.
Work within current national and local guidelines for Infectious Disease in relation to correct Personal Protective Equipment is used at all times, ensuring correct donning and doffing advise is adhered to at all times.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
