Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical services, and contributing to the development of our mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert psychiatric care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Lead and manage clinical teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations.
  • Contribute to the development of our mental health services, including service redesign and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise and teach junior staff, including medical students and core psychiatric trainees.
Requirements
  • Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent qualification.
  • Eligibility for Section 12 (Mental Health Act) Approval.
  • Approved Clinician status or Eligibility.
  • Higher degree or equivalent in a relevant field of medical, psychology, or other studies.
  • Higher specialist training in psychiatry, or equivalent experience.
  • Full GMC registration and meets specifications set out in GMC guidance: duty of doctor.
  • Good IT skills and mobility as required by the post.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Sub-speciality or other specialist clinical training relevant to the post.
  • Experience of close collaborative work with social care and other agencies.
  • Application of evidence-based practice and interest in clinical and policy developments for this care group.
  • Development of close collaboration with primary care services.
  • Relevant experience of the administrative, management, and leadership roles of senior medical staff.
