Nursery Practitioner Job Description

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to support a Nursery in Newcastle. As a key member of the team, you will provide inclusive play and learning opportunities for children, maintaining a safe, stimulating, and enjoyable environment.

This role involves:

  • Protecting and promoting the health and well-being of children
  • Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed
  • Implementing and delivering the EYFS curriculum in accordance with children's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs
  • Supporting children's learning and development through play
  • Being a key person to a small group of children and building positive relationships with their families
  • Monitoring children's progress to ensure they reach their developmental targets
  • Planning and creating activities that keep children engaged throughout the day
  • Helping prepare children for transition into school life

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a pre-school setting or similar experience
  • Diploma in Level 3 Early Years
  • Good understanding of EYFS and child development
  • Ability to implement an Early Years curriculum, considering SEND Code of Practice, child protection procedures, and equal opportunities
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Caring attitude and a friendly, flexible approach
