About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated SHEQ Assistant to support our team in ensuring the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental quality across various sites. The successful candidate will work closely with the SHEQ Manager to implement and maintain our company's SHEQ Management System, promoting a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the SHEQ Manager in achieving compliance and implementing SHEQ policies and procedures.
  • Champion health and safety systems, activities, and projects, and be visible on site promoting a safe working environment.
  • Maintain supplier and contractor approved lists and conduct SHEQ audits and inspections to ensure legal compliance and identify potential hazards and risks.
  • Assist in the communication of standards and procedures, and support the review, update, and implementation of internal policies and procedures.
  • Assist with basic induction training, manual handling, and workstation assessments, and maintain training records to ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
  • Coordinate and conduct emergency drills and training sessions, guiding and supporting first aiders and fire marshals with their duties.

Requirements:

  • IOSH Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health Principles & Practices / NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety qualification.
  • GCSE Maths & English Grade C and above.
  • At least 2 years' experience of working in health and safety in the workplace.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity.
  • Commitment to the health, safety, and well-being of co-workers and the environment.
